Favorite Kurogane moments

The guy is an absolute scene stealer... here are a few gems. I know there are others.

- the "I didn't do nuthin'" look and quick throwing away of the rifle after he tells Jiro about Taro's untimely assassination.

- the little laugh he shares with his buddies after firing a few warning shots at the turncoat advisors he's just sent off into exile, followed by the cocky way he tosses the rifle to the guard.

- when he gets back from supposedly killing Sue, and he walks up the stairs to find Jiro's door closed, and he knows that Jiro and Kaede are knocking boots inside. I love the little disgusted look he gives before he goes back downstairs, announces himself very loudly ("I, Kurogane, have RETURNED!!!!") then stomps up the stairs once again.

- the whole gambit with the stone fox. From this scene, we see that he's the only one who can hope of keeping up with Kaede, although he doesn't put the pieces together in time.

- "Fox-devil!!!" followed by the greatest death in cinematic history.

- the way he refers to himself in the third person, i.e. "I, Kurogane, have returned!" and "I, Kurogane, follow you."

My favorite thing about the scene where Kurogane openly insults Lady Kaede in the presence of Jiro is when he goes about how one fox turned into a woman and tricked a king into murdering 10,000 men; and then the fox disapeared. "No one knows where it disapeared to; but I have heard that it went into hiding (pointing in Kaede's general direction.) somewhere around here."

The problem of Kurogane is that he threw himself behind a shallow and vain lord.

I loved the fox scene in which he insulted Lady Kaede.

After giving Lady 'Fox Devil' her just desserts, he declares it's time for His Lord & Himself to commit suicide. But you're right: Kurogane was all kinds of awesome.
