For me it was when ... The Lady Kaede was (if you will) to-tally out-foxed, literally.

The scene when Hidetora jumps off a cliff and runs away from Kyoami.
sharePreaching to the choir, I know, but the scene where Kurogane made an ass out of Kaede with that fox head and his whole speech in that scene. It was priceless.
And it's not just the humor of the scene itself, I think. Which, it's inherently funny (and provides some welcome levity amid the grimdark atmosphere of the whole rest of the movie), but I think part of why I love it so much is because it's the only scene in the movie where someone really gets back at one of the villains, stands up to them and comes out on top. Apart from the scene where Kurogane actually kills her, it's the only moment of relief we get from having the villains win all the time.
And it's more satisfying than her actual death, because the scene where she dies comes right after we learn that she had successfully arranged the murder of Sue, which makes Kaede's death feel like too little too late, because she had already won anyway.
