Confusing naming convention stupidified by youtubers makes no sense

First Blood - a good movie name, as it's a bit obfuscated in its possible meaning. It could point to many different things (although Rambo really made the first blood burst from some guy's nose, if I remember correctly).

Then Hollyweird-syndrome kicked in, and all the originality and possible independence and creativity was thrown out the window, now we have this successful movie we can cash-in on, and the character 'Rambo' was what made it popular, because he was played by a charismatic action movie lead actor favorite (I am sure at the time Stallone wasn't that popular or well-known, though).

Suddenly the name is not good enough, we must change it to show off Stallone and his gym struggles, so we can have a muscle-bound, sweaty, half-naked action hero on the cover. Calling it 'First Blood II' is not as big a 'draw', someone with money and shifty eyes must have thought, we have to push the CHARACTER'S name up there with much bigger font!

So we got 'Rambo: First Blood Part II'.

Now, as a kid, only playing the game and not having seen the movies, I always wondered why the name is so weird - is it 'Rambo' or not? What is this 'First Blood', and why is it the second part? It was very confusing.

The rest is well explained in the AVGN 'confused about names' video, but I just have to say, out of ALL the names to pick for the lackluster and soulless second cash-cow (the first movie was not a cash-cow), 'Rambo III' had to be the worst.

First of all, it's illogical, there ARE no 'Rambo I' or 'Rambo II' movies, so 'Rambo III' makes NO SENSE!

Secondly, the REAL name of the earlier movies, 'First Blood' was suddenly removed altogether. Why didn't they do this with the second movie, then? Why even leave it there, if they were going to cut it completely anyway in the next movie?

Thirdly, it might've actually been pretty cool to call these movies 'First Blood, First Blood II, First Blood III', because it'd have been consistent, and using the 'Rambo' name seems a bit desperate, as if you can't otherwise ever remember the name of this character, so we HAVE to put it in the title.. idiotic.

Fourthly, if they had a tiny mustard seed's worth of creativity, they could've played around a bit and humorously called them 'First Blood', 'Second Blood', 'Third Blood' and so on.

Obviously, the movies are not really about the blood, or the order of bloods (not sure if this word can even be a plural), so it would've lost its original meaning anyway and been about 'the order of the bloods', but that sounds like a scary cult name, so why not..?

Of course, youtubers obfuscate things even more by calling 'First Blood' 'Rambo First Blood', 'Rambo 1' or even 'Rambo: First Blood', and they just REFUSE to call it 'First Blood', no matter WHAT. Then they review 'Rambo: First Blood Part II', and keep talking about the first movie, and it gets even more confusing.

THERE IS ONLY ONE MOVIE THAT HAS BOTH 'RAMBO' AND 'FIRST BLOOD' IN THE TITLE, for crying out in caps!

I can't fathom why hollyweird has to be like this.. money and marketing are all that dictate things, especially if things get successful, they're not to be messed with, because otherwise they might not be able to squeeze every last dime out of the success of the first movie. So sequels get weird names and idiotic plots and soulless tropes, where they could have crative names, good writing and amazing stories instead.

I hope SOMEONE makes a movie series some day, that DOES have that kind of more funny progression, like 'First' something, 'Second' something, and so on. I won't be holding my breath, though.
