(This is aimed more at the director of the movie - because I believe the character of Murdoch definitely would have given Rambo a Nikon or something!)
They make a big fuss about his mission being to gather photographic evidence but I didn't see him carry any kind of camera on his way there.

Here you can clearly see him load a roll of film into it. As to why he didn't use it at the camp? That's because the camera was in the equipment that Rambo had to cut away to save himself during the botched jump from the airplane. It fell into the jungle, along with the rest of his pack that also contained his submachine gun, never to be found. That's also the reason why Rambo later entered the camp against orders and tried to bring Banks the POW with him. After losing the camera, Rambo had no other way of showing proof about the existence of the POWs.
Yeah in a way if Rambo hadn’t lost his equipment then the POWs never would have gotten out of there. Rambo would have come back with pictures, Murdock would have either destroyed them or digitally altered them to remove the POWs, and then it would be Rambo’s word vs. Murdock.
shareHe was given a camera however I’m pretty sure he lost it when he had to cut his equipment loose. That’s probably one of the reasons why he took a POW with him (they might not believe him if he just said “yeah there are POWs there”)
