It's inspiration is more John Wayne, like say Green Berets, than Apocalypse Now. Why does everyone think they are so smart in pointing out the movie's simplicity? Does anyone come on the Superman boards and go, "doesn't compare to Passion of the Christ in the slightest! REAL epic hero movie!" Apples and oranges... Clunky trolling btw.

Other things it does not compare with: Gone with the Wind. My Little Pony. The Lion King.

Anyway, Full Metal Jacket and Platoon are the same thing Rambo 2 is: works of fiction.

Each has it's place in the world. Obviously Rambo 2's place in the world should not be your playlist.

All these movies mentioned also take place DURING the war, not more than a decade after. If you want to compare Rambo 2 to something, it would be Uncommon Valor.

Ok but Missing in Action 2 is the best Vietnam war movie overall
