Did the camp personnel know Rambo?

At the start of the movie, when Trautman first arrives to see Rambo at the prison to talk about the mission, he mentions that the target POW camp is the same one Rambo has already escaped from before in 1971. Now here's the question: Were there any people left at the camp who still knew/remembered Rambo from -71? I have a feeling that the old, grey-bearded Vietnamese captain at least might have very well remembered Rambo from before.

It's doubtful any of them remember him. The POW says they move around to different camps, harvesting crops, and that they'd only been there a week. Which is why the camp was thought to be empty before they sent Rambo in. This is just a small force that's escorts labor around harvesting crops. It's not like it's the same group of soldiers have been stationed there for 10 years.

In the movie and scripts, no. However, in Morrell's novelization, Tay is the same man we see in the flashbacks in First Blood cutting him. The novelization makes it more personal, while the movie and scripts only casually reference Rambo's experiences and trauma there.

Its doubtful because I don't see how the movie First Blood was shown in a Communist country in the 80s. I don't see how they could have known the character of Rambo prior to this
