Jerry Goldsmith

scored the hell out of this film. Love his work on this. I missed his music in Rambo 4 and will continue to miss it in the inevitable part 5. This is one of my guilty pleasure movies from the 80s. It's cheesy but I don't give a damn. It's a lot of fun to watch and still has some of the best action and explosions in any action film period!

Yep, absolutely goddamn right. It's one of his best scores, if not the best. Really drives the movie along and gives it an awesome pace and tone as a result. It transcends the film and the character and embodies all its kick ass/adventurous and heartfelt themes in a one. I love this piece in particular at the start here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdSIV5xMACk and this classic one: http://youtu.be/BjSS_0qYSzY?t=30s

Buckle up back there, we're going into... hyperactive

I liked how he included some elements from the soundtrack of the original movie.

Composers usually continue the main characters' themes throughout the sequels.
