Much less sympathy after reading up on all the USA war crimes done there
And never even prosecuted (google Tiger Force).

This is almost 30 years old.
You really need to read up on new material.
Yes, because a small elite reconnaissance unit supposedly committing atrocities represents the values and action of every other soldier/airmen/sailor in the entire US Armed Forces. LMAO.
Shouldn't you be posting something like this on the Platoon board, Rambo is a cartoon action fantasy movie that doesn't represent the "real" experience of Vietnam.
The War has been long over and if you have any supposed anger over its participants, then it should be aimed at the stupid politicians who involved the US in the War in the first place.
The Rambo series does one thing right, and it shows how poorly US servicemen where treated when they came back to America and the majority of which had nothing to do with committing atrocities but were just doing their jobs and trying to survive.
"Yes, because a small elite reconnaissance unit "
You really need to take your Michael Douglas shades off, the extent of war crimes go way beyond that unit.
Platoon doesn't try to win Vietnam stating the soldiers had it in the bag if not for dumb politicians, so no point posting it there.
"then it should be aimed at the stupid politicians who involved the US in the War in the first place"
OK, you got a point there. Still like Nuremberg settled, ultimately every single soldier (down to the janitor) is personally responsible for whatever happened on their watch (well, only if you lose and get tried by the winner at least)
"it shows how poorly US servicemen where treated when they came back to America"
You mean the "protesting, spitting"? That's an urban legend, here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spitting_Image
Show me one single documented case.
Now, if you say they didn't get the winner's welcome like WWII veterans, well duh! They lost, nobody likes a loser (Don King always walks away from a fight with the winner). Korean war vets didn't get a parade either (draw).
"Show me one single documented case."

In War crimes happen. Always has been that way, always will be. American soldiers even attack allies. Read up about american soldiers landing in England and going on a rape and crime spree just because they thought they could. Same happened in France after D-Day and of course Germany later on. In the Korean War they did the same. In Vietnam too and in all the Middle-East attacks too.
It's just how war is and is what you'd expect from a country that was found upon war, rape and crime, with a population that celebrates those atrocities every year on what they call thanksgiving day.
Wow I had no idea about the Spitting Image being made up.
To any BluRay/DVD distribution company: please release No Retreat No Surrender sequels on BluRay!
You'd know all about rape, wouldn't you? You just LOVE to wish rape on people.
Sheryl? Is that Sheryl?
The thing is the NVA were targeting women and children throughout the whole war, in large numbers. The Americans definitely did bad stuff (a lot of it stemming from conscription in my opinion) but when you compare the records one side were truly horrific and the other side much less so.
shareShut up snowflake.
sharePeople doing bad things in war is not exactly breaking news.
War exists since the world exists. Wishing a war can be clean, fair, played by-the-book, is just naive, sorry.
Has to be in the top 10 for dumbest posts in history. And on the Rambo board.
Would be like discussing Walter Cronkites coverage of the JFK assassination in the Anchorman board.
