rambo's strange definition of 'expendable'

someone invites you to a party and you don't show up. doesn't matter.

if someone throws a party they shouldn't keep it going if you don't show up? rambo doesn't even call to say he's not going to show? rambo's very self-centered.

Exactly. I mean come on, Rambo.. if you know you're not gonna show up, just say you're busy or something when you're invited. Haha

reply

yeah, would he add to the party? two problems.
1) seems like he doesn't want to party/celebrate anything.
2) if he did want to cut a rug just imagine dealing an intoxicated rambo ranting about at last call- 'it's never over!!! nothing is over!'

i bet rambo doesn't even bring a bottle of wine to the party.

Rambo wouldn't bring wine- he'd bring Pepsi (remember the seinfeld episode where George wants to bring a Pepsi instead of wine to a party?)...

reply

pepsi? 

Probably Diet Pepsi. Rambo's physique clearly takes precedence in his life. In fact, he probably skips the party in the first place because he's too busy lifting weights.

reply

choosing the gym over your pals is very self-centered. 

Your joke misses the point. Rambo is saying that he isn't important enough for it to matter. He'd be humble, not self-centered.

reply

[deleted]

that's fine. but rambo sounds like a pouter.

To make it more clear, in the novelization Co offers her definition, which is something like: if you are in a crowded car that crashes and no one dies but you, you wouldn't be missed. Rambo agrees.

reply

well, if they could get the car going again without the dead person's help that makes sense. sorta.

I always thought that he meant that if someone invited him to a party and he didn't show up, nobody would ever notice. In other words it 'doesn't matter' not for Rambo but for the one who invited him.

reply

OP's an idiot who didn't get a simple phrase. In fact Rambo was the completely opposite of self-centered.
