Does anyone remember a movie that came out between 1975-1985 with a boy and his elf friends fighting aboard a ship. But the ship wasn't just a ship, it was the hat of a giant bald man that came out of the sea. Also, there was a strange piece of black rock or coal in the movie that if you touched it you would disappear. My brother and sister have been racking our brains trying to find the name of the movie. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

This movie is called Time Bandits, and the boy's name was Kevin. It came out in 1981 and was made by the Monty Python and the Flying Circus crew. Kevin's friends weren't elves, but little people who were robbers going all throughout time after they had stolen the Supreme Being's Map. This is a really good movie and is available on DVD.
