Is this the movie...?

I remember watching a movie as a kid that my mom rented for me from our local small-town video store, and nonetheless it freaked me out. I only faintly remember a few things, but if this is the movie then let me know.

I remember something about a kid who walks into this abandoned house and gets struck by lightning or something like that, and I also remember there being an old man and woman who are trying to help him or something because he can't talk and his hair is growing like crazy.

Can anyone confirm that this is the film I'm talking about? All I remember is it was one trippy movie!

Yes it's the movie. The old man and woman are a pair of ghosts. They are the one that scared the child in the abandonned shack.

And yes this movie is disturbed.

The boy walked into the abadoned house and is scared by the two ghosts. He was scared so badly that he lost all his hair. They ghosts then help him by giving him the receipe for the peanutbutter solution to grow his hair back. It started to grow so rapidly, that he was taken and his hair used to make paint brushes.

Strange, huh?

hahaha... and here i was thinking *for some odd reason* TOOTH brushes, not paint brushes... i was born the year it came out, and couldn't have been more than five when i saw it, so its been a while :)

YES! My mom also rented this for me from the local store. What were our mom's thinking?! They must have been out of their minds.

Weren't the paint brushes supposed to be magic? I vaguely remember the bad guy walking into a painting he painted with the paint brush...
