related movies

Hey,
The Peanut Butter Solution and The Electric Grandmother were both films shown to me at my daycare or at home when I was a child and luckily I remembered enough to find their titles on IMBD. BUT, there are other films that I can't find by typing in words that I thought might fit their titles.
So, anyone know of these?
There is a movie that I would guess was called something like the little magician or young wizard or something perhaps about the fact that this young (11ish) boy lived in a world where magic was the norm and he was going to school for magicians. I remember him accidently making a soccer ball huge. He screwed up his projects. He had a good friend, dark hair and shorter than him. I'm fairly certain the movie was dubbed in English from another language (maybe German). Gosh, I can't remember much more, but I would love to find this movie.
There is maybe a silent movie maybe very little dialog about two girls (about 10ish) sneaking into some big fur store and really enjoying trying every thing on and playing around. No, I don't condone fur, but it would be fun to see this movie that was so appealing to my young mind.
Any other interesting child films that might bring something back?
