Other 'Nick Special Deliver' movies

Okay, this movie (the king of all "do you remember" movies) along with a bunch of other wierd french-canadian movies were on "Nick: Special Deliver" when I (and apparently 'we' were little.) I know people have been asking similiar questions, but does anyone remember the names of any other ones? I have been trying to remember more about them for years.

There was one where a brother and sister went to a land at the end of a rainbow, I think.

Another one in which a family orders a child from a factory and it arrives in a blue plastic storage container, I think.

And another one where a girl thinks her sister, or someone like that, is a witch and she sees her walk into a lake, I think.

I REALLY want to figure out what and WHERE these movies are!

reply

That one about the blue storage container sounds soo familiar!! (I remember stamps too) I just can't remember what it was..and could that one about a witch and a lake be watcher in the woods??

reply

I am so glad some one else remembers something about the 'kids being delivered in blue storage containers' movie. I remember parts of it so vividly but according to anyone I ask, Im crazy.

And, the witch one isn't watcher in the woods, although that movie WAS super awesome when I was little, and super scary. Remember the whole blindfolded part in the church? Creepy.

Have you tried searching under "plots" here in IMDB? That's how I found out about The Peanut Butter Solution.

reply

I know the one with the delivered boy is called Konrad. It starred Polly Holiday and Ned Beatty. The boy was Huckleberry Fox I think. What a weird name!
I found it at my local library a copuple years ago.
Sorry don't know the other ones.

reply

Konrad actually wasn't on Special Delivery on Nick, but on Wonderworks on PBS. It was a show that showed weird little short stories on Sunday Nights. I also don't recall The Peanut Butter Solution as being on Nick either, but rather appearing on the Disney Channel. It was actually on Disney a lot. It's weird that I happened across this post because my brother and I were just discussing both of these movies the other day. Both Nickelodeon and Disney borrowed most of its programming from Canada back in the day. Does anyone remember The Edison Twins?

reply

I think the stamp movie someone mentioned was, "Tommy Tricker and the Stamp Traveller" (1988). ALSO, does anyone remember "The Challengers"? I don't think this one was a "Special Delivery" but instead on Disney, it's from the same era anyway...

"They're coming to get you Barbra..."

reply

I totally remember Tommy Tricker! Aaaaaagh!

That's awesome.

I have been trying to remember the name of a Nick Special Delivery film about a boy running from a bully...I believe it had "P.S." and "Harvey" in the title...Harvey was the bully...anyone remember?

reply

I remember Tommy Tricker and Konrad too! I very clearly remember seeing them on the Disney channel, because that's all I watched as a young child. There's another movie that I used to see all the time, but I can't remember if it was on the Disney channel. All I can remember is that the main character was a young boy named Meo (Neo?) and I remember him grabbing onto the beard of a floating head and going to a far off place. The floating head was an old guy and everyone had British accents. Does anyone else remember anything like this?

reply

Are you sure the floating head beard movie wasn't The Adventures of Baron Munchausen? I remember Robin Williams' head floating around in that film...

reply

No, it's not Baron Munchausen. Thanks for the input though.

@bstudier:
Your movie sounds like "The Land of Faraway" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093543.
I don't know if it was ever on tv, but I remember watching it on video ages ago.

reply

Hey thanks

The Land of Faraway

Mio was the kid's name, and Jum-Jum in that movie was played by the future Batman, Christian Bale

reply

Did this have something to do with a boy who made things with straws and toothpicks?

does this movie have a part where bullies give the boy a swirly or something that gets him wet. All I can remember is a boy coming home from school wet. His mother says something to him about getting into trouble or something insensitive. He lived a high rise. This is all I can remember. Maybe we can help each other out.

reply

I'm not sure if the swirly is in this movie. I just remember the kid that was picked on by a bully was always making things with straws and toothpicks. At the end of the movie, the kid goes to the bully's house and tells him that he brought his "dumb straws and toothpicks." It goes off with them doing arts and crafts.

DOES ANYBODY REMEMBER THAT RAINBOW MOVIE? you are teh ONLY person i've ever met (other than myself) who remember this? weren't they looking for a pot of gold too? and they went alllll over a forest or city or something?

oh my gosh! if you find it, please tell me!!! it has been on my mind for years!

also-
anybody remember "How to be a perfect person in 3 days" or "the electric grandmother"?

reply

I'm pretty sure that the movie where the brother and sister go into a land at the end of the rainbow is called The Great Land of Small. :) Hope that helps you. The Challengers was also a really good movie on Disney. Another movie that came out around that time was The Electric Grandmother. Another good movie.
