cut off ear

For some reason I associate a scene I remember from my childhood to this movie.
A barber cuts off a kids ear and tells him it's just a little nick or something like that and sticks it in a jar. Is this scene in this movie? Does anyone know what I'm talking about, or did I imagine it?

In case no one else has answered, I'm pretty positive that this was not a scene from this movie. All I'm working with is my memories here, but that one is not in it and I would have noticed I think. I'm not familiar with this scene you remember but I hope you find the source of it.

That scene is absolutely not in the movie. I've watched it a million times and have a copy on vhs.

Were you thinking up ideas on how to make the movie even MORE creepy?

This is old, but I just wanted to say that I saw the scene you are talking about. It was a short that played in between two movies on showtime or hbo called "My First Haircut," 1988 about a boy afraid of getting his haircut. In one scene the kid imagines that the barber cuts his head off. I'm glad I read this, because I thought I was the only one that saw that.

Wow, I remember My First Haircut, glad I finally know what the title is. I was born in early '84 and grew up on HBO. I remember seeing that on HBO and also a couple of other shorts, one being a fake daytime talk show where a father accidentally shoots his son, with terrible acting and ketchup coming out of the kid's mouth. There was also one about keeping kids away from guns, a melodrama where two friends stumble upon one of their dad's guns and one of them getting blown away by the other at the end. I remember the kids grandma holding his head up and talking about how they were going to go out and buy him a jacket or something while he was lying on the floor bleeding. Does anyone else remember these?
