I am just curious, but is the English voice track the original version, or just one made for the DVD (though it was probably the version in theaters as well).

For those who don't want to hunt for a straight answer..

Both English tracks are available on the Criterion DVD, as well as Ken Ogata's Japanese narration, which the is the director's preference.
