Quirks in the Criterion DVD to be aware of

Just to make readers aware of a couple of quirks in the recent Criterion Collection DVD. First, the one deleted scene from the film has been inserted into its proper spot. It is in "The Temple of the Golden Pavilion" sequence and occurs when the young acolyte goes to talk to his former Go master. It was in the special features section of the Warner Brothers DVD.

Second the commentary by Paul Schrader and Alan Poul was recorded with them watching the WB DVD. This is not apparant at first but towards the last third of the film Schrader starts discussing color changes that he is going to make to the film for the new DVD and he also mentions the deleted scene that we saw earlier.

Neither of these effect the enjoyment of this wonderful new DVD release but I thought that I would mention them in case any of you were confused by the situation.
