Star Trek: First Contact(1996) and Star Trek: Insurrection(1998) ripped off Lifeforce(1985)!
-Lifeforce has a hauntingly beautiful villainess who is madly in love with Carlsen. ST: First Contact has a hauntingly beautiful Borg Queen who is in love with Data! Patrick Stewart is in all three movies.
-The Space Vampires use a "collector" to store human energy! In ST: Insurrection, the Son'a use a "collector" to steal "metaphasic radiation" from a planet!
I'd say this movie has a lot more in common with Species (or the other way around). In which an alien in beautiful female form runs around naked seducing men.
And also with David Cronenberg's Rabid, in which a hot female goes around seducing man and woman alike to satisfy her lust for blood. All her victims turn into violent semi-zombies after that and regionwide chaos ensues.
Event Horizon might also have taken a clue from Lifeforce. The long needle-shaped ship, the shuttle coming back full of corpses, etc.
You're definitely right about the collector though, which brought me back to Insurrection too.
I love masking tape. It's the poor man's duct tape.
Don't forget the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Perfect Mate" in which an alien woman seduces the male crew members.

A powerful alien thing gets close to Earth and the ending was almost the same...
And I'm sure The Fifth Element used the same idea.
