Well now would be the time to do it since vamps are so hot right now. Im not a fan of remakes but this movie could use one. It's lame. But a good concept that could only be made better if they don't camp it up or make it too Twilight-y.

Wouldn't go for Bale... He's lost his charm now, after too many similar roles. He also seems to play everything the same now. Not to mention, I think the role of Carlson needs someone that bit more nuanced, lower key and sympathetic. I actually love most things about the existing film version, but I wasn't keen on Steve Railsback. I think it needed someone more sympathetic who you could imagine falling for the Girl, but at the same time strong enough to believe he could resist her when he needed to.

As for the rest of the cast... hmmm...

Can't abide Eccleston, I'm afraid... I think he's overated. I think James Purefoy would be cool. You can really see him as cool and calm, but with a tough character.

While on the Rome slant... Carlson I think perhaps Ray Stevenson or Kevin McKidd might be good. But if we keep Carlson American, like the movie, perhaps Ben Browder? I think he'd be pretty cool.

Can't go wrong with Max Von Sydow, he's perfect in anything. :-D Though just to throw in an alternative, how about Rutger Hauer? If Max wasn't available. ;-) Even Chrisopher Lee!

As for the Space Girl herself, I really like Zoe Tapper, but I don't think she'd suit it. It needs somebody with an ethereal otherworldly beauty (Not to knock Zoe, but she's beautiful in girl-next-door way) and a full womanly figure lol! So no hollywood stick insects! ;-) I think perhaps a relative unknown would be best for the part.

Dr Armstrong... well, why not Patrick Stewart again? It's not like the part required him to be the age he was then. :-) Though I think if you wanted to go the direction of the book, perhaps Richard Griffiths.

I'll got with Liam Cunningham as Bukovsky. He'd be good.

Sir Percy, Robert Pugh's not bad, but I'd say John Hurt or Jim Broadbent. :-)

So...
Carlsen: Ben Browder
Cain: James Purefoy
Fallada: Max Von sydow or Rutger Hauer
Space Girl: An Unknown
Dr. Armstong: Patrick Stewart or Richard Griffiths
Bukovsky: Liam Cunningham.
Sir Percy: John Hurt or Jim Broadbent

She's quite sexy even as Victoria from Twilight, just cash in on the Twilight success and remake Lifeforce but no platinum dunes please or music video directors, how about someone like David Slade who did Twilight Eclipse, 30 Days of Night and Hard Candy for director.

perhaps we shold consider the age of the first space girl actress at the the time, she was in her twenties... I think Margot Robbie would be best! she just needs to dye her hair brunett! Rembember, the first space girl was really gorgeous, out of this world!! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3053338/reference

How about Bradley James as Derebridge and Matt Smith as the Guard the first to be killied in London

I am not so huge a fan of remakes and would rather see the 128 minutes version restored, but here is my list, just for the fun of it:

Space Girl: a lesser known/unknown Mathilda May or Kate Beckinsale look-alike or Olga Kurylenko (could be critical in the boob department, though)

Colonel Carlsen: Willem Dafoe or Viggo Mortensen

Colonel Caine: Jason Statham or Paul Anderson

Dr Hans Fallada: Christopher Walken -- I marvelled, though: Is he supposed to be German (the real Hans Fallada was a German writer). Then maybe Armin Mueller-Stahl or Udo Kier.

Sir Percy: John Henshaw

Dr Bukovsky: Jeff Goldblum

Dr Armstrong: Patrick Stewart (which would be a really smooth move of him)

Derebridge: Clive Owen (assuming that there are more scenes in space)

Ellen Donaldson: Alicia Witt

Sucked-out guard: a cameo (Jude Law, Daniel Bruhl, ...)

Pathologist: a cameo (Udo Kier, if he does not play Fallada)

McGrath is 40 now. 🤢 Could have worked when you posted this.

I’d suggest Grace Caroline Currey — because I’d love to see her walking around stark naked: https://x.com/Sin_Gifs/status/1645310119989899265?s=20

But they should cast an unknown teen like Mathilda May was.

But there’s no way in hell that a studio would have her character naked in today’s hyper repressive, over-reactionary social landscape where people bitch that any female nudity — especially voluptuous women like May — is an insult to women everywhere punishable by death.

Yeah LifeForce wouldnt be a very PC friendly type movie for these days as roughly 75% of its appeal is the hot naked space babe.

98%. 😄
