Except Danny Devito is 68 years old. I can't see Eddie Arcadian using a walker. Jason Alexander could look the part but I can't picture playing an alpha personality. Just seems like everything he's ever been in he plays the same schmutz of a guy. Don't get me wrong, it works in what he's been in but I can't see that character (the schmutz) being Eddie Arcadian either. As for who I think would be good in the role, I can't think of anyone off the top of my head and since this movie is one of my favorites of all time it's hard for me to want to alter anything without feeling like I'm destroying a classicpiece of art.
shareDeVito may be a tad old, but Jason Alexander actually surprised the hell out of me in a dramatic role he had in Criminal Minds, or a similar type show. But he was AWESOME.
You're correct though. They are doing enough re-makes in Hollywood that are grossly HORRIBLE to watch.
Peter Dinklage would be a better choice.
