Taimak was offered a sequel but turned it DOWN!

Taimak was offered the sequel in the 80s but turned it DOWN! He held out for a 3 picture deal but never got it! What a dummy!

Jesus NEVER existed! He is Judeo Christian MYTH!

Whaaa? Wow, if true that was a monumentally stupid move. It was a minor hit, and you'd really need him to anchor a sequel, but he had very little leverage at that point. Certainly not enough to get a 3 picture deal.

Exactly! Now his career is over as he was never in a big movie again! He should've taken the sequel and built his career from there. Dumbest show biz move ever!

It's telling that the one thing other than "The Last Dragon" that I remember Taimak from is Janet Jackson's video for "Let's Wait Awhile". Oh - there may have been an episode of "A Different World" that I vaguely remember - but that's it.

Kind of a shame - you would have thought that he could have had a little more success.

Yeah, that was one of the very few "A Different World" episodes I ever saw, and I watched to see him. He played a date rapist who got beat up by one of the cast regulars. (He was trying to rape some girl in her car and this other guy who'd been stalking them launched at the car's sunroof and reach down through it from the roof to start beating on taimak.)

Hmph. Great memory to have forever.

Yep, because now he's Taimak WHO?🐭

reply

He still works in Hollywood. Maybe not as an actor but as an instructor to actors wanting to learn the craft and stay fit

reply

I can't understand him! He SHOULD have done it!!! I mean the sequel could have been called "The return of the last dragon" or something like that if he had reconsidered doing it!!!
