way too 80's!

I know, it's kinda hard to picture something being WAY TOO 80s. Back then it wasn't parodied as much. The short-lived show, "That 80s Show" was way too 80s. Usually stuff "way too 80s" actually comes after the 80s in retrospect. Like, The Wedding Singer is "way too 80s". Hell, even the movie 13 Going On 30 is "way too 80s"(especially considering how Jennifer Garner's character as a child would watch Rick Springfield's Jesse's girl on MTV, but she was living in the LATE 80s; it's the equivalent of why they don't play Living La Vida Loca anymore on the music channels). When they start to play songs from the entire 80s during a movie that takes place in one part of the 80s, that's "way too 80s"(especially if the movie takes place in 1985 and they start playing music from 1986-89).
shareThis was a movie made in 1985. So the fashion/music/style/pop culture was different. It suited the needs and fun of that time. So in retrospect it's fun to watch this and other 80s films and feel nostalgic about a time when things were much different, and how fun it was to be a part of that time.
shareThe movie was made in the 80's??? WTF?? How old are you?? You must not know a good movie when you see one. A 4/10 I know people are entitled to there own opinion, but don't be that cruel to a classic like The Last Dragon.

Actually I just watched this classic last night and Jules Carey's voice is edited... he actualy said
"Alright Leroy, who's the m.f.'in master?!"
No joke, watch it again an you will notice
Most 80s movies are 'too' 80s--seeming to be parodies of the 80s. Just One of the Guys, Fast Times, Breakfast Club, 16 Candles, Pretty in Pink--they are what popular culture was at the time. Look at Saturday Night Fever--it is way too 70s in a way--aside from the fact that it was simply reflecting what the 70s was!

It's the very excessive gaudy 80's aspect of this film that makes it such a great kitschy blast from the past.
I've been chasing grace/ But grace ain't easy to find
