I love this movie!

I grew up watching this movie taped from tv on VCR....I watched it many many times...I think so many people have missed the point of this movie..Its not ment to be serious, its kinda like an action/comedy it has that old school bad acting and cornyness and cheap sets that makes it kinda fun and funny to watch, like so many 80's movies do. There is something more enjoyable about watching these kinda movies than some new ultra modern movie with fantastic special effects and an endless budget. Kinda like watching old star trek with captain kirk...i prefer that to the newer version! dunno just something about it...and its FUNNY! So to you people that gave it such low ratings and continue to bag it...LIGHTEN UP! and enjoy it for what it is..

peace out! :0)

I too love this film. Please don't get me wrong, it is definitely a B-rated film but there is something endearing about it that makes me love watching it repeatedly.

yay lol! someone that finally gets it and agrees with me... thankyou :)

I agree. I also grew up watching a taped-from-tv version of this movie and must have seen it about 50 times. While I haven't watched it for years, I really enjoyed it as a child and although it's b-grade, it's certainly fun stuff!

Oh man, I never knew there were so many of us!

I too watched this movie countless times from our taped-from-TV version. It was one of my old holy trinity of films I watched religiously as a kid along with Return of the Jedi and Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom.

I remember I even used to dress up like Quartermain (complete with pistol, hat etc) and act out the film as it went along. Heheh. No matter how much of a cheesy B-movie the film seems now, it will always have a fond place in my heart.

... And how scary was the giant spider when you're 7 years old?!

lol that spider scene is hilarious, especially the music...its so weird u mention indiana jones and the temple of doom, coz i watched that religiously also! I practically new every line in the movie and sometimes still quote lines from it amounst family members, as i do quotes from king solomons mines....

i think the scene where the canibals try to cook them in the giant pot is hilarious, i also think the german leader dude is hilarious

I too grew up with this movie! I used to make up riddles and draw scenery from that movie, almost fifteen years from now, I still have them. I absolutely loved the character of Allan Quatermain back then, haven't seen this movie for many many years though, I can't even remember the spider you are referring to :(

I like this movie too.

Golan/Globus + Gene Quintano + Indiana Jones ripoff = Movie Gold!

The sequel is worth a watch too.

Call Me Jack. Union Jack.

WHAAAT??? SEQUEL??? just when you thought this was all there was to life. Gotta go rent a movie ;). As for Solomon's mine...it's cheesey, it's corny, it's an indiana rip off......BUT I LOVE IT!

I love this movie too, also because you get a funny Allan Quatermain.
The other movies i have seen about King Solomon's Mines, Quatermain is always so damn serious and not funny at all.

Just love the first quote he makes to Jesse when they are walking in the middle of the jungle:

Jesse: "Where is this place anyway?"
Quatermain: "That way"
Jesse: "Why are we going this way? The shortest distance between any two points is a straight line"
Quatermain: " Miss Houston, trust me. It's a jungle out there"
