I think it's a truly terrific format, films like this one have and naturally lends it self towards the progression of characters. I've tried to dig-up as many as possible (Two-Lane Black Top, My Own Private Idaho, etc)
but was looking to see if any of you film afecianado's can think of any other films in this vein?
you know, even just general message on-the-go films will be of worth to me, too like Apocalypse Now.

thats a pretty good list, though it does miss off vanishing point, which is pretty close to two lane blacktop in feeling.
