I just finished watching this film for the first time in a long time. Watching this film it makes me think they used this film to do the Hangover film series. Look at it:
Bradly Cooper as the Kevin Costner character
Ed Helms as the Judd Nelson character. They even have the same name Phil
Justin Bartha as the Sam Robards character
Zach Galifianakis as the Chuck Bush character complete with beard and huge gut.

Even plot is similar: Both Justin Bartha and Sam Robards are supposed to get married. It is just the 80's version of The Hangover even though Todd Phillips copied this film to make The Hangover.

ABSOLUTELY ! In fact, there's a shot a the beginning of THE HANGOVER (with Bradley Cooper in the foreground on hiS cell phone and the car and guys in the background) which is VERY similar to one of the opening shots in FANDANGO.
