The definition of Fandango at the beginning

Who else thought "well, that's where Tarantino got the idea to describe "pulp" at the beginning of Pulp Fiction"?
Wasn't astounded at all after the film when I read, that it's one of his favourite movies. I'm also lovin it, good movie.

I think starting movies with a dictionary definition is a bit of a crutch going back a lot longer than 1985, but the rest of this movie makes up for it.

I really wasn't sure what "fandango" meant, so I guess it helped, but I would have looked it up.

While it's debatable if this influenced QT and Pulp Fiction I have few doubts that the dictionary definitio was insisted upon by the studio or some exec that worried audiences would be confused as to the meaning of the title. It's such a typical piece of meddling.
