Anyone else catch this?

The mouse in Wolfgang's basement told Ben to go to hell he also said it to Wolfgang's dad. I didn't catch that the first time watching but I watched it again with subtitles and i haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

Did anyone else catch what the mouse's name was? His name was Heinlein. That made the whole movie for me. RAH lives on in so many ways!

I just watched it for the first time and I caught it... but it was definitely one of those things where I was like, "Wwa... did the mouse just say... I think it did!!" but I didn't rewind to check, so I'm glad you confirmed it. The very fact that James Cromwell was the dad blew my mind and any scene he was remotely in, I ignored pretty much all the action and tried to pay attention to him, so that's why I caught the mouse talking smack to him (lol).

He also says off screen something about finding his mud bomb, and his wife asked where, and he says "in the bathroom".

James Cromwell made this movie (already good) so much better.

wow totally missed those

He was looking for a bug bomb - like a fogger to dispense insecticide.

And yes, Cromwell's scenes were all classic - that film really had a super strong cast for the core team. Of course Cromwell, Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix have done a ton of great films since then - even though River died very young, he made a lot of great films before his death.

I wonder why the "third musketeer" actor never worked much beyond this film. He wasn't clearly super talented like Phoenix and Hawke were even back then, but he was better than average for a kid actor.

As to the OP's comments about Heinlein the mouse typing out "go to hell", I caught that the first time I saw the film as a kid, and it was one of the things that made it a classic for me. Although most kid flicks these days would never swear like that, it is how kids talk, and it gave it that extra bit of realism for me that made it from a good flick to a super cool flick.
