Needs a Sequal and way better then AI

Well what about its 20 yrs later D.A.R.Y.L. has gradurated college. someone makes a photo of him making a speach and someone in the goverment reconizes him. And we see the goverment once again try to takes him. It would not be the same though without Barrett Oliver. However, I think after the way he was treated at the end of the movie he will not make a sequal but maybe he will if there is enough interest I am for one to say I am all for it.

Hi RIchard,

I've occasionally heard that Child actors are not treated all that great by others in the entertainment industry. It may have to do with that whole "don't work with animals or children" thing, I don't know. How was Barret Oliver treated? Later,

He was one of the greatest child actors in my opinion,I even think that he was more natural than Haley Joel Osmond.

According to his website he always had a cheerful disposition. But websites done by fans tend to stretch the truth a bit, or be oblivious to it.

As for a sequel, it's been 20 years and very few people even know the movie exists. It doesn't exactly have the cult status of movies like Labyrinth and Dark Crystal, so no one is ever going to greenlight a sequel to it unless it's done by the Sci-Fi channel.

D.A.R.Y.L is my second favourite film after The NeverEnding Story, also starring Barret Oliver.

Barret Oliver is my favourite actor by far. He always draws out emotions in an understated way, sensitive rather than forced or cocky, never overcooking his performance. He's one of the few actors to make me cry. I guess I see myself in the characters he portrays. Also, its the eighties nostalgia. He was in quite a few sci-fi films and TV shows of the period, including Knight Rider and Cocoon. It always seems the best child actors disappear. But I'm used to it; it happens all the time. It's a real shame both Barret and Danny Corkhill are no longer acting. As long as they're happy doing what they want to do in life.

It's not that they disappear, it's that they grow up. Apparently he's a content pro photographer in California age 31 or so. No sequels, although he could always get by on bit parts. Henry Thomas is reigniting his career and is a good actor as an adult.
It's when they get a taste for nose candy and booze that no one will touch them.
