I haven't seen this movie in over 15 years and I forgot most of the storyline. Could somebody tell me the plot and what happens at the end? I remember some doctors are after him to destroy him but if I remember he escapes and the last shot is him running? Thanks to who fills me in.

Wouldnt it take her a few days to get back, sneak in to hospital, pull him out of the morgue and make him come alive?

Actually, it *does* happen fairly quickly. As the parents and turtle are leaving the parking lot of the hospital, we follow their car until we stop on a car still parked in the parking lot. Then we cut to the scene of Dr Ellen Lamb in the emergency rom talking to a seemingly-dead Daryl ("Daryl, I know you can hear me,"). I hope that clears it up, but your right, it is just a movie. My personal question is: How did Dr Lamb get out of the TASCOM facility after Daryl's second disappearnce? Later,

True, but he and the dr were faffing around running away from the police, and then breaking into a military base for at least two days if you look closely.
They whizz about on the highway for one night, the next dawn they swap cars at the farm, and then it's the next night into early the next day when he steals the plane and makes his escape (because he radios Turtle to meet him at the lake before school).
So, if the lady dr was questioned even for a whole night and then let go, she would still have had loads of time to get on a commerical jet and then drive to where Daryl was going (which she knew, because as someone else said she was in on the the whole escape thing).
I just watched it on DVD the other day, by the way so I know what happens.
It does work out if you watch it again.
I was watching a program in the History Channel about the Stealth Aircraft developed by the U.S. Airforce during the 80's (The Skunk Works) which included the SR-71, however they mentioned something which caught my attention, they said that the U.S. managed to keep these airplanes secret from the USSR from 1978 to 1988, however this movie if from 1985, I highly doubt they would reveal their secret in a movie and moreover, not be discovered by the USSR. Comments?
shareIt was the various prototypes and early 'release models' of the F-117 Stealth Fighter that was 'kept secret' from the Soviets during this time period.
Believe it or not, the Stealth Fighter prototypes were flying in the late 1970s.
I forget at the moment if it was Have Blue or Tacit Blue or something along those lines, but you can research (using those keywords) the development to some degree these days since much has been dropped from Top Secret to a lower security level, and quite a bit is fully available to the public.
When the plane blew up, the military men were still not convinced that Daryl was gone because they figured that he could have used the ejector seat to escape and they mentioned that there is a homing device on the seat. That means they could still track him down. I was surprised that the ending only showed Daryl returning back to his "true" home. I'm sure the military men won't give up until they've destroyed him. Why didn't the movie show what happened to them?

He shut off the homing beacon prior to ejecting, so it didn't activate when he did.
