Not enough of a score.

I really like this movie a lot, but one of my biggest problems with it is the musical score. While I think Marvin Hamlisch did a nice job, there wasn't enough of it in the movie. There a huge spots in this film with no score whatsoever which really brings down the energy and emotions of scenes. Almost the entire car chase towards the end is just police sirens and screeching tires. Where's the music? Same with the opening of the film. It takes like five minutes before the music starts. And quiet scenes between characters are just there with the dialog.

I have to wonder if this movie was rushed to release back in '85.

I completely agree and felt exactly the same way when watching the car chase scene at the end.
