I have been looking for this song for years! Why is it not out there somewhere? What a shame that more people are not able to hear this wonderful song. It kind of goes right through you and has so much meaning.

I've tried to find the lyrics for "Somewhere I Belong" by Teddy Pendergrass, lyrics written by Dean Pitchford, and haven't found them anywhere.

So what follows is what I think they are, until someone can find them written down somewhere out there.

"Somewhere I Belong" sung by Teddy Pendergrass.

Where I'm going?
I've been lost so long,
There's no shelter from the cold,
Winds are blowing,
I keep dreaming on,
Waking up in emptiness alone, alone,
I know, I know,

Somewhere I belong,
Somewhere I can call, my home,
Open your heart to me,
I've got the feeling,
That your love is leading me home.

How'd you find me?
Pull me from the storm,
Make the heartache disappear,
Feel the fire,
Love can keep us warm,
I just can't believe I'm finally here,
I am here, I am here,

Somewhere I belong,
Somewhere I can call, my home,
Open your heart to me,
I've got the feeling,
That your love is leading me, leading me home,
Somewhere I belong.

Open your heart to me,
I've got the feeling, I've got the feeling,
That your love, your love, is leading me home,
Somewhere I belong,
Somewhere I belong,
Somewhere I can call, I can call, my home,
Open your heart, open your heart, to me, to me,
I've got the feeling, I've got the feeling,
That your love, that your love is,
Leading me, leading me home.
Somewhere I Belong.

Update: Just bought the record of this song. It's goes just over five minutes.

The lyrics for this version are:

Where I'm going?
I've been lost so long,
There's no shelter from the cold,
Winds are blowing,
I keep dreaming on,
Waking up in emptiness alone, alone,
I know, I know,

Somewhere I belong,
Somewhere I can call, my home,
Open your heart to me,
I've got the feeling,
That your love is leading, me home.

How'd you find me?
Pull me from the storm,
Make the heartache disappear,
Feel the fire,
Love can keep us warm,
I just can't believe I'm finally here,
I am here, I am here,

Somewhere I belong,
Somewhere I can call, my home,
Open your heart to me,
I've got the feeling,
That your love is leading me, leading me home,
Somewhere I belong.

Open your heart to me,
I've got the feeling, I've got the feeling,
That your love, your love, is leading me home,
Somewhere, Somewhere I belong,
I know, I know, there's somewhere,
I can call, my home,
Open your heart, to me,
I've got the feeling,
That your love is,
Leading me, home.
Somewhere I belong, somewhere I belong,
Somewhere I can call, my home.

Open your heart, open your heart, to me,
I've got the feeling, I've got the feeling,
That your love is leading me,
Leading me home.

Somewhere I belong,
Somewhere I can call my home,
Open your heart, to me,
I've got the feeling,
That your love is leading me, home,
Somewhere I belong.

Disclaimer: These are what I think the lyrics are, until someone can track them down on some other site (If they're even out there at all).

Hi murph,

Long-time-no-meesage. However, I just wanted to say; those extended song lyrics sounds like they're a bit repeatative[sp/]. But thanks for finaly adding them, it's intersting to see. Later,

Hi dchipman,

I finally got around to putting the lyrics for the record soundtrack up.
for the end of the movie they cut the song to fit the end credits, they did it very well, you'd think that it was the original length of the song.

then I bought the record which goes for five minutes, so it's the full version as is.

I still like to see a director's cut of d.a.r.y.l. (deleted scenes, etc.)

reply

Hi murph,

I agree with you, about a director's cut (IMHO, some things just seemed to jump from one situation to the other). However, as someone has said, what we see is probably all there is. I'm afraid I don't know if I'll have any flashbacks in the fan-fic I'm doing. That could have filled things in. Later,

I have tried looking nbut still can't find nice to hear that it is on youtube

Hiya zeo1,

I agree about the youtube stuff. It helps with my fanfic research (reminds me of parts of the movie, if things come up that I need to refresh on). The whole movie is available... Later,
