right the film im thinking of could be anywhere from the 80's or 90's but i saw it in the 90's as a small child (im pretty sure it wasnt a dream).
i remember it was about a boy who was half robot half human.
Theres very few scenes i remember but i do remember him walking up some stairs and a monster hand coming from under them and grabbing his foot and i remember him in a hospital type place with loads of doctors/scientists around him amazed that hes the first "half human half robotic boy" and i dont know if this is even a film but im sure it is, and for some reason i associate blue moons with it.
is it this film or can anyone think of a film like this?
i remember it being really creepy and weird.

I'm trying to remember the name of a similar movie, might be the same one. I remember a scene where the robot-boy is being examined by a doctor or a scientist and chooses a name for himself. I think he calls himself 'Chip', as in computer-chip. It's been bugging me for ages...

You're thinking of the "Not Quite Human" movies which aired on the Disney channel in the 90's. "Chip," the robot boy, was played by Jay Underwood [The Boy Who Could Fly], and the scientist/ father was played by Alan Thicke [Growing Pains]. There were three of them made. In the first one, Chip goes to high school when his father and sister move to a new town. In the second, Chip goes to college and meets a robotic girl. In the third, there is a robot copy of his father, and Chip fights an evil mad scientist/ world conqueror type. The movies were cute, if not totally "believable." But who looks for complete believability in sci-fi/ fantasy movies.

Does this movie have scenes where a kid is taken to a cabin or old house/shack with wooden floors?

Is there an open casket scene that takes places outside in a somewhat wooded area?

Not sure if this is part of DARYL or other movies (Konrad seems to be one) that people confuse with that movie.
