What a psycho

I know this movie tries to pull off the ol' "Well, daughter's life trumps everything and gives him pass to do anything"-crap, but think about it;

- Those mall guards had possible families, and died because of Matrix, were murdered or severely injured by Matrix, had their lives and families possibly completely ruined. They might have daughters, too!

- Many people were just doing their jobs, the cops, the guards, but also the plane guard - think about it from his perspective; all he does is show up for work, then some musclebound moron comes to knee him in the head and throws him off the window! He doesn't have to be so brutal to innocent people that have NOTHING to do with his daughter being captured! Come on, Matrix, have some sympathy - you don't have to be 'The Terminator (1984)' in EVERY movie! Have a heart!

- Matrix doesn't even care about his own daughter, blowing up buildings without even knowing which building she might be in, is just more fun than actually making sure and caring about his daughter's life. Who non-psycho would DO this?!

They had it coming.

Mall cops are ten a penny and easily replaced.

He rescued his daughter and killed all the baddies. It's results that count, not the dry bureaucractics and their rustling scribbled hindsights.

reply

I don't think any of them died.

reply

You bring up a good point. Oh well!

reply

Back in the 1980's viewers rarely took into account a no name guards perspective. We just wanted action.

Things have changed somewhat today. You can argue that we were less evolved then or have become more soft today.

reply

It's just an action movie, don't overthink it..

I've never seen so many mall cops in a single shift like that. The movie was generating them like NPC video game characters. Do you feel bad about beating up NPC game characters?

reply

Those mall cops knew what they were signing up for.

reply

lol xD

"I hereby sign and acknowledge, that my life is in jeopardy every shift, and a muscle-bound Austrian death machine may arrive in the mall at any time, wherein as such a time my life is duly forfeited for the sake of good scene in a movie"

I didnt work at an official mall, but I did do outside Security for a massive strip mall and had to patrol in vehicle and on foot. I wasnt allowed to carry any weapons or protection, no back-up (even some cops dissed me and didnt have my back) constant mistreatment by customers and even workers and managers of stores dissed me sometimes. The job really is crumby, but sometimes you do make a difference and sometimes people treat you well, one should try it out just to see how it is, but never let it be a long term job. If you really liked it, aim for becoming a cop. Because you get more responsibility, but you also get back-up, and all the weapons and protection to actually feel safer and accomplish more.

hope you survived it in one piece mate. I've had some encounters with criminal low life in my past. Cunts.

I encountered several people that threatened my life, and then a few situations where there was no direct threat stated but my instincts screamed at me to get out of there. Several places out there was broken into a robbed when there was no security. I found people acting shady behind these buildings past nightfall on several shifts.

All wrote and done, I never got injured, and I believe I got out before anything very serious happened.

What you wrote earlier is mostly true, during training our instructors didnt sugar coat anything and even told us of one of their employees from years back was straight up murdered on the site he was patrolling. The real bad companies would try to hide these facts from prospective employees!
