Most ridiculous movie ever?

Commando is fun and all, but many scenes (if not all) are unrealistic and utterly cringe-worthy. The most glaring examples:
- Matrix careening with his SUV down the side of the mountain
- Matrix jumping off a plane and landing without a scratch
- The mall scene with Sully "the Stud"
- The scene where Matrix lets Sully "the Stud" "go"
- Not to mention the grandiose, one-for-the-ages finale, which might end up ranking along with The Shawshank Redemption's, The Godfather's and North by Northwest' as the best film-ending ever.

Unrealistic for anyone not named Arnold, yeah. This is just the kinda stuff Arnie does.

Unrealistic, but I wouldn't say cringe worthy.

COMMANDO is what THE EXPENDABLES films should have been like.

You are not a UNIT MEMBER so you do not understand this great movie.

Yeah speaking of unit members…I wanna point out the Matrix unit guys. The other team members: Forrestal, & Lawson. They were Commando’s like Matrix?? Really? Those guys got killed pretty mildly compared what Matrix went through. One got up & goes out to make sure his garbage is picked up, & doesn’t try to move outta the way when the “garbage men” reach in the truck with guns & blows him away. Then there’s happy Jack Forrestal. He at least had a loud voice when he was yelling at Cooke for trying to drive a sales car inside a building. But then he ends up on the hood of the car, & through a plate glass window. & Ta-Du…He’s Dead. Matrix let himself fall from a airplane into some swampy water area & doesn’t get a scratch? Are they sure that Matrix didn’t kick them 2 outta his unit also?

Being in the same unit as Matrix and Bennett makes you soft, since the two of them kill any danger in the blink of an eye. A carton of eggs could serve in the same unit as them and emerge from any deadly conflict with nary a cracked shell.

The scene where he lets Sully go is great. One of my favorite movie lines of all time.
"Hey Sully, Remember when I said I'd kill you last?"
"I lied"

Cringe Worthy is by far the WORST way to describe this.

Yes, its a mid-80s Action Film, pretty much one of the first to start the great surge that lasted to the mid-90s, most were "Unrealistic"... But that wasn't the point.

The point was pure action. The action scenes in this are great. The acting is solid and the budget was high enough to give Arnie the toys he needed to destroy an entire country lol. Cringe Worthy are the no budget, terribly acted Van Peeble Films or the Dolph Lundgren garbage that was made LITERALLY to capitalize off of Arnold. I could name 100 crappy movies that were made because of how great Arnold was between 82-90. He defined the genre... This film is one of the greats.

Bennett would not approve of this thread.

If you're complaining about it being unrealistic, you're missing the point.

It is supposed to be unrealistic. It was a fashionable genre that is long dead now, but was somewhat similar to today's superhero movies. John Matrix is a superhero. Of course, if the leading hero wouldn't have been played by Schwarzenegger, but Nicolas Cage or someone else with no look or presence, it would be indeed cringe-worthy.
