Love the story, the characters and superb acting, and the music! What I would give to go back to the 30's and travel the south. The culture, the blues, and the people! Definitely my favorite era of American history.
shareI just watched "The Color Purple" on Netflix. I hadn't seen it in years. The story Alice Walker wrote is beautiful and heartbreaking. I fell in love with Celie all over again. I just can't believe it didn't win any Academy Awards.... it was nominated for 11...! Whoopi should have won.... and Steven Spielberg for best director and picture... And Quincy Jones. Outstanding performances, cinematography, song, score... Love the song "Sister."
