Ahhhh...Those Were The Days...
This TV-movie always takes me back to high school, when I first saw it and thought it was very entertaining. I can't help but think of 1985 when I see the hairstyles, hear the club music Hasselhoff and Kramer are boogying to, check out the clothes. But that aside, this movie is great because it's a throwback to those low-budget thrillers from the Fifties! The plot makes little sense and the performances are exaggerated, but it doesn't matter because it's all so much fun to see. I highly recommend it, but let me warn anyone who's going to watch this the first time that you'll find yourself laughing.
Highlights:
*the boxing match between Mantooth and Hasselhoff; it's overblown.
*Kramer and Hasselhoff dancing to that groovy pop music; 'nuff said!
*Hasselhoff pounding away at the Ripper's seemingly steel face; kind of
makes you think he would have done better as a boxer.
*Clu Gulager's every scene as the dopey, stubborn police official; this
is the type of role our good ol' boy was born to play. He's good!
