When the clock strike 12


Surely 12 o'clock is when the hand strikes 12, ie the 1st chime. So then why do they wait for the 12 chimes to mark 12 o'clock? The greedy partners could have possible used this as an excuse to claim the money. Just an observation. To me, as soon as the 1st chime is heard then that should've been it.

Well, maybe, although I guess since he handed in the receipt just as the last chime faded out, it was acceptable. Maybe the chimes were sort of considered the warning bells.

I know it's only a movie but I would like to think, given the fraudulent nature of the law firm, that even if Monty hadn't spent the 50,000 a judge would award the 300 million to him in a civil case.
