Inevitably this movie will be remade- again

Its such a compelling idea and times change so much that the story has to change a little.

If they do remake it what should the new stipulations be?

1. $30 million is way too low today. I would guess it would be closer to $75 million or more and the jackpot would be somewhere around a half billion to a billion.
2. He has to spend it all in 30 days with no assets.
3. He cant give it away, he has to get value for his services.
4. He can gamble 5%, he can donate 5% to charity.
5. He cant destroy anything inherently valuable.
6. He cant break the law or use this money to pay any fines or lawsuits.

What else makes a good story?

he has to be funny getting rid of it or his fictonal movie career will be destroyed and he will have to light himself on fire ;)

If Brewster's Millions were remade today, would Brewster be able to use some the $30 million or whatever the updated amount is to pay his bills?

Losing money is easy...

All he would have to do is make a movie..."Cutthroat Island" or possibly "The Alamo"

If he remade "The Adventures of Pluto Nash" the world would just simply collapse on itself and the movie would be over anyway.

"Save me Jebus!", Homer Simpson

Yeah but that 30 day time period would work against him. Those films took longer than that to lose their $. I'd say just buy lots and lots of very expensive stamps(like he did in the movie) and use them all for postage as they were originally intended.

It is really simple in the remake version which I would not want to see though he would get ripped off by a scam artist. That could help him to get rid of his $30 million dollars easily.

Ahh yes. But then he would not be getting value for services. Thus he would be declared the loser.

Do not know because you know how some of these film companies are they cannot come up with their own ideas so they decide to remake something that was done 20 or 30 years ago to make it with a fresh new edge to it. Even though it turns out worse being remade.

30 million dollars is way too low? You're kidding, right?

$30 million was the figure back in the mid 80s when the movie was made. With inflation I think it would be much easier today.

You think it would be really hard to spend $30 million in 30 days when it was possible more than 20 years ago?
