What Monty could've done

Here is what Monty could've done. He couldn't "buy the Hope diamond for some bimbo as a birthday present" since he couldn't give the money, or anything he bought with it, away. He couldn't buy a bunch of expensive paintings and then burn them since he couldn't destroy anything of intrinsic value. He could only spend up to 5 percent on charity and 5 percent on gambling. Also, by the end of the 30 days he couldn't be in possession of any material assets, cars, yachts, mansions, ect, that he bought with part of the 30 million, only the "clothes on his back." Well here is what he could do. He could buy the Hope diamond and then throw it away. By throwing it away, it is no longer in his possession. He didn't destroy, he just got rid of it, it and he didn't give it away. Sure, some lucky person might happen to "find" the Hope diamond after Monty disposes of it but Monty didn't give it to them so therefore he would've satisfied the conditions.

You are missing the point. The executor of the will gets to say if he lived up to the terms of the will. The point was to spend all the money and not accumulate any assets. Wasting the money (throwing something like the Hope Diamond away) would not have satisfied the spirit of the will. The executor could have and probably would have declared Monte the loser. You cant find loopholes and try to get away with something. That is why they have an executor of a will.

Sure you can take stuff like that to court but executors of a will have a TON of pull when it comes down to it.

You prove a very good point about that what Monty could not do in order to fulfill his bargain of the will. Now he could give donations to the church to help them out. That could have helped to spend the money he is suppose to spend. It would have went to a good cause too.

He could only donate five percent.

That is right that he could only do that because it was several months ago that I watched this movie for the first time in years. No network shows this film hardly anymore at all.
