Goof not noticed? Amount of money in vault

I always wondered about the amount of money in the vault. While in the law firm's office, he was shown the wimp clause case of $1 million. After refusing that, they showed him the $30 million in the vault. There were three pallets of money. It was implied they were all $100 bills, as when he was talking to his manager 'collect', he said they only gave him hundreds. It sure looked like there were more than 30 casefuls of money on those three pallets. Looked like it should have only been one pallet.

So you're wondering why the pallets at the bank looked like more cash than what was in the case he was offered at the lawyers office? I never thought of it that way but it would be interesting to see how much space $1 million in 100's takes up.

Large amounts of cash and other valuable items are often the source of goofs in movies. With all bills larger that $100 removed from circulation it's hard to have millions in cash in a bag. I just saw an old episode of The Six Million Dollar Man and they were paying off a hijacker with $500 bills which would take 1/5th the space that $100's would.

Which is really weird since they were being taken out of circulation in 1969. But maybe Oscar Goldman was counting on the hijacker being ignorant of that fact...

$1,000,000 would be ten thousand $100 bills. In packs of 100 bills each, that would be 100 bundles in the briefcase.
$30,000,000 in the vault would be 3,000 bundles, or 1000 bundles per pallet.

I don't know... Does that look like 1,000 packs per pallet? If there's 100 packs per layer that pallet would be stacked 10 high

to put it into perspective, this (http://otbdesignblog.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/million.jpg?w=640 ) is only 500 bundles.

I think the Vault scene looks fairly accurate for $30,000,000. Maybe even a little light...

My "#3" key is broken so I'm putting one here so i can cut & paste with it.
