Alternate ending question

When I was originally told of this movie a friend described a different ending than the one we all know. He explained that through some set of circumstances Brewster ends up with 2 minutes left and he still has $2.01 left. He then frantically finds the nearest store and item to purchase which is a gallon of milk. As he's drinking it like a madman he is reminded that the milk only cost $1.99 and therefore must purchase something additional, but the clerk tells him there's absolutely nothing in the store for that amount. So, with 5 seconds left it comes to him to swallow the 2 cents like aspirin and uses the last of the milk to wash them down.

Was my friend high or is there some sort of alternate ending out there?

Ignore the morons. There have been many different versions of this story, maybe your friend saw that in another one?

I love Brewster's Millions, but that gallon of milk ending you described is waaaay funnier than the actual ending.

It might be that he watched one of the other seven or so Brewster's Millions (try searching for it on IMDB).

He has a flashback to Blue Collar's filming and beats Stephen Collins and those two old fart with a folding chair.

might be but, it would be IMPOSSIBLE to drink a gallon of milk in 2 minutes, that would be a funny ending though. I know a guy that drank a gallon of milk in an hour and I don't think he drinks milk anymore
