hired Spike or Donaldo or Melvin or the cab driver (or whoever else was involved) for a month with a salary of 7.5 million dollars a week? Which rule of the deal would that have violated?

The rule is you have to get value for your services. Overpaying a little is OK. Grossly overpaying is not oK and it was up to the executor of the will who was the referee.

Yeah, think the original had some rule against paying inflated wages.
