Which stereotype were you?

Since this movie eloquently portrays society as clearly divided into cliques, which one did you belong to?

(I know the intended point was to say they were not that easily stereotyped, but the movie totally does so nonetheless}.

I was none of the above. I was the kid that called this bullshit.

Well, I managed to be somewhere between a social awkward nerd and a rebellious non-conformist.

I was in high school in the late 80s, and there was a group of kids who were into alternative (college) music (like 120 Minutes on MTV), and didn't really fit into these Breakfast Club categories. I'm thinking of kids like Molly Ringwald's character in Pretty In Pink (although not necessarily from working class backgrounds). I think I fit into that category in high school.

I like your detailed reply but I have to confess I haven't the foggiest idea what type you are talking about.

Were you ever in high school? I'm guessing you were something like the kids in Ghost World.

Not even close. I was popular and a sarcastic rebel at the same time.
I still don't get what you meant, I never saw PIP.

Basket Case is the closest as she doesn't easily fit into any category. I can see her as being intelligent like the nerd, fashion conscious (in her own way) as the Princess and would no doubt like the same type of music as Bender. The only thing she might have in common with the Jock is the middle class family that probably pressure her to succeed.

If anything I was probably more like Karl the Janitor. Just wanted to get through my day, not be bothered and not giving a shit about the drama. But ready to drop some truth bombs if pushed.
