Why not remake this?
They remake everything else. There is remake of "Vacation" out right now. Why not remake this? This could be great with a smart update.

shareYes, it could be great with a smart update.
It will never happen that way, but it could.
I donโt need you to tell me how good my coffee is.๎. ๎๎ฌ

Vacation is not a remake. Its just another tired retreaded sequel with Rusty Griswold as the dad this time.
As for the Breakfast Club - why ruin a classic by having yet another lousy remake with todays crapfest of teen actors. I myself am sick of hollywood doing remakes and reboots with the exception of batman .all tbe rest have been crap
Why remake anything?
Why not just come up with your own original ideas and make that - It'd be a better film than any remake!!
Because if The Breakfast Club was remade and it was relevant to today's high school world, the kids wouldn't say much to each other and just stay on their electronic devices and the detention teacher would be a lot nicer.

Jackpot!!!!
There'd be absolutely no intereaction between the students, unless they're texting. I wouldn't want to sit for 1 1/2 to 2 hours watching kids text or go on Instagram.
AMEN
shareI'm glad to see that this notion was met with such strong opposition. If teenagers today can't relate to the characters because Clair and Andrew weren't discussing Stubbie's Party on Facebook, that's their loss. The power of Andrew's monologue would be diminished if his crime was that he "filmed Larry Lester's ass and posted it on Twitter." If you want to see the same idea over and over, stick to the Fast and Furious series.
This isn't an attack Bateman. You were just throwing an idea out there. It just touched on a pet peeve of mine. And they can remake those dog$hit "Vacation" movies all they want. As long as they leave quality films like this alone.
Why not remake it?
Because there are plenty of very good screenplays sitting in every studio's Story Department that haven't been made because the endless parade of sequels and remakes is taking up all the screen time in cinemas.
Why continue to rehash the old?
However, what good would a remake do? The issues addressed are still the same. The only thing that would be 'updated' would be the soundtrack and the wardrobe.
Never defend crap with 'It's just a movie'

It COULD be great. It WON'T be
