I imagine he spoiled her. Is it me or did he not seem upset at all that she skipped class to go shopping.

he sure did spoil her but his lack of being upset was because ditching school to go shopping seemed a pretty lame thing to do to get Saturday detention. he seemed like he was more interested in social priorities -- like how she said he said she could go to that party when her mother forbid her.

I mean even she said to him I can't believe you couldn't get me out of this. Sounds like he uses a lot of influence to get her off the hook with stuff

yeah but it also sounded like it wasn't even worth his time. and I think she uses her influence to get him to get her off the hook with her crap.

Maybe he was the kind of dad who thought his daughter was just going to get married and be a wife. Not that there is anything wrong with it but if you're just a trophy wife does skipping one day of high school make a difference?

I read an article once about a doctor who specialized in breast implants. He said some parents looked at getting their daughter implants as an investment in their future - comparable to a college education.

Not all dads are Charles Ingalls.
