What was with that incredible burst of energy? It was like he felt alive for the first time in his life.

Now I'm not saying marijuana always makes one lethargic. There's been a few times where I got competitive with some of the guys I burned with and wanted to bust out a bunch of push-ups or just horsed around in general.

It's just...I don't know. Seemed like he was doing few lines rather than toking up based on his behavior.

Thoughts?

And did you notice Claire sounded more drunk than anything when she said,

"You know how popular I am? I am so popular, everyone in this school loves me."

It sounded like she was slurring. Either Hughes has no idea how to direct them high, or that was really Molly Ringwald's idea of someone stoned.

Anthony Michael halls acting as being stoned was soF ucking Annoying. He did the same think in the movie Weird Science. God I couldn't stand it.

I've heard that pot actually pumps a small subset of people up and can even give them anxiety and panic attacks.

I get energetic from getting high all the time.

Different buds have different effects, and everyone also reacts in their own way.

Wow, really? Like the way Andy was all jumpin' around and doing flips and yelling at the top of his lungs?

It was just odd. But I guess his actions were more in line with his "athletic personality," so that's why they had him doing all that sh!t.

It mostly depends on what your smoking.

Some weed gets you more stoned, were other stuff affects your brain more.
I remember when I got high with my friends I would often not want to sit and would sometimes even like to do something crazy like walk on a tree stump or climb on something.

It's because you get these fun ideas and you want to do them.

I get that there's different strains, and like I said in my original post, there were times (depending on the group) that I'd get a little wild and crazy. Mostly a lot of goofy sh!t, like trying to burn each other with lighters, standing there and taking as many hits as I could to the stomach, seeing who could hold a plank longer, etc.

Andy seemed really amped up, like he was on coke. Not weed.

Movies and TV tend to poorly exaggerate the effects of weed and other drugs- either for comedic effect or propaganda. I think this falls into the former.

I think the burst of energy also implies that Andy can finally be himself without having to impress anyone i.e his father.

When he sees the type of kids he's serving detention with, he realizes he doesn't have to play a role to impress them.

I think the marijuana thing was just a topper and he just wanted to get it all out.

Well considering Andy eats,drinks,sleeps wrestling than that's probably the way he blows off steam..is my guess
