'Sword In The Stone' and 'Black Cauldron'

Before I begin,
I would like to say,
If you haven't seen both "Sword In The Stone" and "Black Cauldron"
or read the books of Prydain, you might not get some stuff in this board,
When I talk about Taran, I’m also talking about his portrayal in the books and the movie.

I notice quite a few similarities between Taran and Arthur and the world around them.

In the book, Dallben is an old bearded enchanter who watches over Taran,
Kind of like Arthur it watched over by Merlin the old bearded wizard.

Both Arthur and Taran come from very simple lives,
Arthur goes into the woods to find Kay's arrow,
Taran goes into the woods to find Hen Wen the pig,

They both get a magic sword at some point,
Whether it be the Sword in the Stone or the Sword of Dyrnwyn,
And in the end, their lives are changed and they both become kings.
(Taran became a king in the books.)

Does anyone else have anything to add?

I think I just remembered more,

At some point, they both find a witch/witches who have the ability to turn themselves into beautiful maidens.

In the movies, some scenes of Arthur are reused for Taran, but animated over with Taran in place of Arthur.
(For example, when he crawls under the branch.)

I think there is some strange similarities and links to the two stories and characters, whether it be coincidental or intentional.

Black Cauldron is basically "Army of Darkness Meets Sword in the Stone". XD

I thought Taran was a red-headed Arthur. However, I prefer Taran's personality. Arthur's kind of an emo kid with no self respect (I know I know, that's how he was raised.)
But I admire Taran's bravery and nobility.

"But it's a ROCK!"
"I KNOW IT'S A ROCK!"
