Not that Scary

I loved this movie and still do. It was unique for a Disney Animated film for not having any songs and getting a PG rating which probably scared a lot of parents and their kids away. I've read that parents groups and critics didn't like it and that it didn't do well at the box office but I think it's great. Some people seem to think it's too dark and scary but I didn't see anything in it that I thought would be inappropriate for children. But this movie came out in 1985. That was a very different time. I think most kids wouldn't have a problem with it today though.

I also played the computer game when I was a kid and enjoyed it very much. Popular movie director Tim Burton had an uncredited role behind the scenes as a conceptual artist for this film. I can see Burton's dark and scary influence in this movie. Dark, scary and weird are common words people use to describe Tim Burton's films.
