Just looking at the characters, you can't help but notice the resemblance, but I only ever saw one or two episodes of the disgustingly vile R+M show, whereas I could watch this classic trilogy over and over again.

the first season of rick and morty I enjoyed a lot when it first came out. The rest of it has all been awful, so if you started with those you goofed. It's very clearly a loose parody of BTTF at least on a character level
