Considering Marty McFly is 17 years old, which means he'd have been conceived 13 years after they last saw Calvin Klein, I'd doubt it. If they did notice a similarity, I suspect they probably just wrote it off as a coincidence.

Bear in mind, they knew Marty for a week, 30 years ago. Yes, they'd remember him. But would they be able remember exactly what he looked like? I don't believe they took any photos of him. After all that time, it's hard to remember exactly what somebody looks like. Especially for somebody you only met over the course of a week. So it's possible that they didn't make the connection that he looked the same.

More importantly, Marty had two older siblings. Marty could not be his own father.

I think OP is suggesting that George might have suspected that Lorraine met up with "Calvin Klein Marty" for a tryst after Dave and Linda were born, and young Marty was their illegitimate son.

reply

That doesn't make any sense either. Why would she? And by the time Marty grew up enough to see the resemblance to Calvin Klein over twenty years have passed. Dave is likely over 20, evidence by the oddness of his working at a fast food joint and, after Marty's return, that he is going to work in a business suit.

George and Lorraine have no photos of Calvin. After 20 years his face would be unclear enough in their memories that its unlikely he would ever come to mind.

I didn't say she would meet up with Calvin Klein Marty nor did OP. He/she just wondered aloud if George might have thought that.

And if you're suggesting that no woman would ever have an affair with a high school crush some 15 years later, you're not thinking this through.

George spent quite a bit of time with Calvin Klein Marty during that week - he'd have a pretty good idea what he looked like. It's not out of the realm of possibility that George would see Calvin Marty's face in his own son's face and make the connection, particularly since their faces are not just similar, they are EXACT.

OP surely isn't alone wondering if George ever put the two faces together.

reply

Yes, I understand. My opinion still stands. He spent quite a bit of time with him for maybe one day, two at the most. I don't recall the faces of at least half my classmates who I spent four years with. I truly doubt it would ever cross George's mind that Calvin could be Marty's father because I seriously doubt he could recall Calvin's face if he tried.

Silly $hit!

reply

Somehow they forget all about that "Calvin Klein" guy.
