Episode - The Cold Equations

So I've noticed this show was running on the Chiller network recently and I was looking through some of the episode descriptions and one caught my eye, that had something to do with a stowaway on a ship. Just struck me familiar for some reason. So I tivoed it and within minutes I remembered watching it when it was first on. It was buried deep in my brain since I was like 9 years old. I clearly remember watching and being extremely upset and frightened at the time. I was used to watching monsters and aliens and the like and they never scared me, which is why something like this, with none of those things, freaked me out. I clearly remember crying during it and my Dad trying to explain it all to me.

Anyway it's a great episode. Some really great classic Sci-Fi themes, and Goddamnit if I wasn't sitting there watching it 20 odd years later and still almost tearing up a smidge. It's a solid episode and a good example of the punch this version of the series packed at times.

I thought you might find this interesting:
The Cold Equations (1996 TV movie)
The story is expanded to 92 minutes and stars Billy Campbell and Poppy Montgomery. I thought it fared quite well in a lengthier format.
